DMCA & Copyright Policy

Introduction

Sentinel Search LLC (“Sentinel,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Sentinel platform (“Service”) to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (“DMCA”), we will respond promptly to properly submitted notices of claimed copyright infringement.

Sentinel is a research and analytics platform. We do not host, store, or distribute copyrighted video or audio content. All video content accessible through the Service is delivered via YouTube’s embedded player in accordance with the YouTube Terms of Service.

What Sentinel References

Sentinel references publicly available information about videos posted on YouTube, including video titles and descriptions, publication dates, channel names, thumbnail URLs served directly from YouTube, and public engagement statistics. We do not store video files or audio files on our servers.

Supporting Content Creators

Sentinel is designed to support — not compete with — YouTube content creators. All YouTube videos accessible through the Sentinel platform are displayed via YouTube’s embedded player, which means views, likes, watch time, and other engagement metrics flow directly to the creator’s YouTube account. Subscription buttons placed alongside any YouTube player on Sentinel exist to provide users with a clear path to subscribe to the creator’s channel. Sentinel encourages users to watch any YouTube content available through the platform so that creators receive full credit for the engagement that supports their accounts.

Sentinel Search LLC does not profit from YouTube videos played through embedded iframes on the Sentinel platform. All views, engagement metrics, advertising revenue, and other benefits associated with YouTube playback pass directly to the creator. Sentinel also provides direct links to each creator’s YouTube channel and encourages users to follow these links to engage with creators on YouTube directly.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that material referenced through the Sentinel platform infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice that includes the following:

1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of such works.
2. Identification of the material that you claim is infringing and that is to be removed, including information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on the Sentinel platform (such as the URL).
3. Your contact information, including your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Counter-Notification

If you believe that material was removed or access disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification that includes:

1. Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed.
2. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
3. Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the United States District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located, or, if your address is outside the United States, the United States District Court for any judicial district in which Sentinel may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice.
5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat Infringers

In accordance with the DMCA, Sentinel will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate access for users who are determined to be repeat infringers. Sentinel may, at its sole discretion, limit or terminate access for any user who infringes the intellectual property rights of others.

Misrepresentation

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing, or that material or activity was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
