Acceptance of Terms

This is the Terms of Service Agreement that applies to Sentinel’s data, tools, app, website, and process (collectively the “Sentinel platform”). By using Sentinel you agree to be bound by Sentinel’s Terms of Service. If you do not agree with Sentinel’s Terms of Service immediately discontinue all use and uninstall, delete any saved information you acquired through the use of the Sentinel platform.

Description of Service

Sentinel is a research and analytics platform that provides tools to users to search for, compare, and understand video content placed in the public domain including publicly available YouTube video content. Sentinel does not host audio or video content. All video that can be accessed through the Sentinel platform is delivered via YouTube’s embedded player in accordance with the YouTube Terms of Service. All views, subscription requests, likes, and other video-based statistics used to measure online video content is credited directly to the YouTube account holders that posted the videos.

Sentinel is currently an open-access platform and no account is required to utilize the Sentinel tools. Sentinel shall provide notice prior to any change in Sentinel’s open-access policy.

Acceptable Use

By using the Sentinel platform you agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Harass, defame, or harm other individuals
• Misrepresent Sentinel search results as anything other than what they are: public statements made by video content creators and posted on YouTube’s public platform
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Sentinel’s platform, service or its systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service’s operation
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
• Resell or redistribute Service access without authorization

Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, tools and content created by us (which does not include any video content displayed through a YouTube iframe), is protected by intellectual property laws. Video content displayed through the Service remains the property of its respective creators. Sentinel asserts no ownership over the underlying video content.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR RELIABILITY OF SEARCH RESULTS. Users should verify information by reviewing the source video before relying on or citing any result.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SENTINEL SEARCH LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. Because the Service is provided free of charge during the launch period, our total liability for any claim shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or at our discretion.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.
