PhD Student Killed Best Friend's Newborn Baby: Police

<p>Nicole Virzi, 31, is accused of murdering her best friend's newborn baby in June 2024 and abusing the boy's twin brother. Virzi was a PhD student in clinical psychology visiting her friend in Pittsburgh from California when 6-week-old Leon Katz died. Virzi's lawyers asked that statements she made to detectives be suppressed claiming she was coerced. A judge has ruled the statements were made voluntarily.
