Common Ground: A Tribute To "The Miracle On Ice"
Summary
In 1980, the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team became memorable underdogs -- securing a shocking, yet symbolic win against the Soviets that has since been remembered as "The Miracle on Ice." Now, 45 years later, lawmakers are working together to find a way to give those hockey players the recognition they deserve.
Congressman Pete Stauber (R-MN) and Congressman Mike Quigley (D-IL) discuss the significance of that Olympic hockey game, what it meant for Americans, and why they felt called to create the Miracle on Ice Congressional Gold Medal Act.
