Dark and Darker has been BANNED on Steam. The game is removed pending DMCA claim investigation. Dark and Darker has captured the hearts of gamers with its gameplay and theme, but has come under recent fire from Nexon - claiming that the game has been stolen. Nexon claims their original project P3 - a survival dungeon game in development at their studio - was copied by two former Nexon employees who went to create Ironmace and produce Dark and Darker.
Nexon is now suing Ironmace under the Unfair Competition Prevention And Trade Secret Protection Act in Korea. There are a lot of details of this case that have been lost because of the optics of the situation. Nexon as a company is known for many pay to win mechanics in the West, and most people are taking Ironmace's side because of the feeling of a small developer getting oppressed by a larger one.
In this video I want to break down the truth - as close as we can get to it - of Dark and Darker and what is going on. I spent a long time researching Korean media to find out both sides of the story, the legal precedents, and the likelihood of where the case is going.
