Vickie and Dan chat with Vermelle D. Greene, PhD - an educational consultant and the Executive Director of The Boys Initiative. The non-profit organization’s mission is to raise the awareness of the underperformance of boys. TBI strives to recruit and equip advocates who can help their respective communities – faith, family, education – to address the boy crisis.
She has been an educator for more than 48 years (teacher and administrator from elementary through college levels). After her retirement, she founded S.A.C.R.E.D. Life Academy for Boys, a Christian school in Capitol Heights, Maryland. The school's innovative curriculum focused on building character and accommodating the academic, social, developmental, and physical needs of boys , kindergarten through 8th grade.
Dr. Greene is the author of Please Teach Me Like I’m a Boy! - Ten Steps to His Success in School and in Life. As an consultant and conference speaker, she has provided professional development and coaching for parents, teachers, and administrators across the country.
