Summary
<p>A 25-year-old Venezuelan man stands accused of fatally shooting Sheridan Gorman, a Loyola University freshman. The 18-year-old was walking with friends near campus, reportedly hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. Near the pier at Tobey Prinz Beach, a man wearing a mask and dressed in all black clothing, ambushed the group. As they ran, Jose Medina, 25, opened fire. Gorman was shot in the back.</p> <p>Using surveillance video, police tracked Medina, who was arrested at his apartment just blocks from the scene. Officers allegedly found clothing and a 40-caliber handgun matching shell casings found at the scene.</p> <p>Chicago Police say the shooting appears to have been random.
