Summary
In this edition of The Humanist Report, we shine a light on President Trump’s morally bankrupt priorities by examining his new fiscal budget proposal. He’s choosing to prop up our bloated military budget and funnel money to private religious schools while simultanesouly slashing funding for social safety net programs like medicare, medicaid, social security, HIV funding, and more. Additionally, cuts to these programs will help fund tax cuts passed in late 2017 for the wealthiest Americans in the country. We’ll also talk about Trump’s vision for students burdened with loan debt; he wants to screw them over even more in a number of ways, and make debt even more troublesome for future borrowers. So we’ll talk Trumpian policy priorities and update viewers about progress we’re making on net neutrality. These topics—and more—are covered in this episode. Enjoy the show!
