Summary
<p>In this 507th episode of 'The Political Spotlight,' Host Kristopher H. Bilbrey examines the ongoing "Public Disservice" being forced upon us.</p>
<p>First, Bilbrey talks about Muncie Mayor Dan Ridenour's admission that there will be no progress on Southway Plaza. It has only taken him three and a half years to admit what the public has known for almost the entire time. What does this mean for Muncie and the southside? Should citizens ignore this and move on?</p>
<p>Next, Bilbrey recaps today’s (Thursday, August 14, 2025) "Unsafe Building Hearing Authority" meeting. Unsurprisingly, Mayor Ridenour did not apologize for his controversial comments from last month, and they conducted business as if everything was normal!</p>
<p>That leads Bilbrey to discuss the overall behavior of elected and appointed officials from different governments. There seems to be a concerning trend where officials are not providing public service to their citizens; instead, they are engaging in what Bilbrey calls: "Public Disservice!"</p>
<p>The message to citizens seems to be: “You get what you get, and you aren't allowed to throw a fit. We don’t want to hear from you — so deal with it!”</p>
