<p> Last Sunday, Scottie Scheffler won the </p>
<p>Masters. In his interviews and print </p>
<p>media he said ‘I just wanted to Glorify </p>
<p>God.’</p>
<p><br /></p>
<p> My question is this: How does it Glorify God when a </p>
<p>Christian athlete wins a competition?</p>
<p> What if the runner up is also a </p>
<p>Christian, but he did not win? Does </p>
<p>that mean that God did not favor him </p>
<p>to win? Maybe he did not pray hard </p>
<p>enough! (sarcastic humor). I think you know what I’m trying to</p>
<p> get at. It’s not like the Calvinistic view </p>
<p>of ‘God controls everything and even </p>
<p>controls our destiny and actions.’ </p>
<p>I guess it’s like a friend of mine after a</p>
<p> different person won a golf </p>
<p>tournament, and he said ‘God helped </p>
<p>me win.’ Upon hearing that, my friend said, </p>
<p>‘Does that mean that God was against</p>
<p> the other player?'" Thanks,</p>
