"There's someone still in there!" a witness repeatedly yelled. Seconds later, Desirae Garcia emerged from the flames and slowly stumbled across the motel's parking lot. Close to 70 percent of her skin had either burned or was still burning at the time.
When she arrived at Swedish, staff openly wondered if she'd survive.
