10:32Now PlayingThe Republican congresswoman said Democratic opponent Trisha Calvarese called her to concede Tuesday night.
Calvarese has worked for the U.S. Civil Service and The American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). She grew up in Highlands Ranch and was the Democratic nominee for the 4th District's special vacancy election to fill out the remainder of Buck's term this year. She lost to Boebert-endorsed candidate Lopez.
Boebert is endorsed by former President and current Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Boebert switched from her former congressional district, Colorado's 3rd, after winning the 2022 election by only 546 votes. The 4th district encompasses Douglas County, parts of Larimer and Weld counties, and the Eastern Plains. Its voter makeup is 47% unaffiliated, 35% Republican and 17% Democrat, making it a "safer" Republican seat than CD3.
Colorado held its 2024 election Nov. 5.
Voters selected between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump for president.
They also elected representatives for the U.S. and state legislatures. Candidates included Yadira Caraveo and Gabe Evans in CD8 and Lauren Boebert and Trisha Calvarese in CD4.
Voters considered 14 statewide ballot measures, including Amendments 79 and 80 regarding abortion rights and school choice, respectively.
Coloradans also made decisions on local elections and ballot measures, such as sales tax increases to fund health and affordable housing initiatives in Denver.
