The administration is expected to cut thousands of full-time jobs across the Department of Health and Human Services. Some of the agencies impacted include the CDC, FDA and NIH.
These cuts come as the administration also cuts funding for dozens of HIV-related research grants. Cuts are on top of previous slashes to funding used to help manage HIV beyond the United States — and other funding reductions are looming.
We sat down with 9NEWS' medical expert, Dr. Payal Kohli, to discuss how these cuts could impact lives and future health research.
