90s kick off the work week with isolated storms this evening

Sunshine and mid 90s to start the week. High pressure is moving back over the region. High temperatures on the Front Range are topping out in the middle 90's despite some early cloud cover across the area. Storms will be isolated this afternoon and evening again with a 20% chance for rain.

There is a slight chance for severe weather on the northeast plains with hail and 60 mph winds. But down sloping winds will help squeeze a lot of the moisture out of the storms drifting east off the mountains. So the I-25 corridor will primarily stay dry and see very isolated storms if any.

Tuesday will also be hot again with partly sunny skies and with highs in the 90's likely. The rain chances will start to increase as low pressure to the west is expected to give the monsoon moisture a little boost northward. Very heavy downpours will be possible in the mountains, the Front Range and the plains so watch for localized flash flood potential Tuesday through Thursday.

The western slope is likely to get a slight boost in rain coverage this week but unfortunately, that's the area with the lowest rain totals in the forecast as the extreme drought conditions there continue to expand.

As high pressure shifts back to the west next weekend, watch for very warm and much drier conditions with temperatures in the upper 90's and triple digits.
