1:40Now PlayingDenver began Tuesday with muggy conditions, tying its highest dewpoint in 17 years.
Denver's dewpoint (a measure of the amount of moisture in the atmosphere) of 66 degrees at 1 a.m. Tuesday tied the city's highest since 2008, almost equal to Dallas or Austin.
The moisture in the air will fuel stronger showers and storms later Tuesday. The slow-moving storms will lead to flash flooding concerns. However, Tuesday's storms will have only about 40 percent coverage in the Denver area with a fairly low severe weather threat, athough it'll be higher across the northeastern plains.
