4:59Now PlayingA year after their loving Backstreet Boys parody went viral, Denver Water is back with a follow-up single and music video. Denver Water's Splashstreet Boys released “Water Tuesday (Splashstreet’s Back)” on Monday, a new single and music video.
The new song delivers a very specific request to outdoor water users in Denver Water’s service area: Switch irrigation timers from Mondays and Wednesdays to Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Denver Water said the default setting for most sprinkler clocks is to run before dawn on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. When a majority of households water at the same time on the same day, these spikes in water use cause unsustainable strain on Denver Water’s distribution system.
Denver Water has said the strain on its system leads to higher energy costs while testing the capacity limits of Denver Water’s treatment plants and storage facilities.
