Dry, warm week ahead of weekend storm and mountain snow

Another warm, dry November day with above-average highs and gusty winds at times. The next high-pressure ridge will keep incoming storms north of our forecast area through Friday.

Afternoon temperatures will continue in the upper 60s and lower 70s Tuesday through Friday. The average high for this time of year is 55 degrees. The record for November 11th in Denver is 76 degrees, set back in 1989.

The warm, dry pattern is raising concerns for elevated fire danger, especially with a wind increase at times. Little to no rain is expected until the weekend, when our next storm system begins moving in from the west.

By Saturday, that system will bring cooler temperatures and a chance for some mountain snow, with the possibility of a few passing rain or snow showers along the Front Range and in Denver. Highs will dip into the low 60s to mid-50s this weekend.

As we move into early next week, things will stay a bit cooler and more unsettled. With the storm system lingering to our east, we could see a few bands of showers wrap back into eastern Colorado.

Expect highs in the 40s and 50s to start next week.
