After hours of discussion, Loveland City Council voted 5-4 to approve an ordinance that would no longer require there to be shelter beds for officers to ticket homeless people or begin the process of removing camps. A Supreme Court ruling from 2024 paved the way for city council to approve this.
Tuesday night's meeting went for hours as the public questioned the impact of the new ordinance and council members asked questions about how the new ordinance would impact both police and the unhoused population in Loveland.
