Schreiber Foods Inc. issued a voluntary recall last week of 144 cases of Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread that were distributed to Einstein Bagels locations in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming. The recall notice was posted on March 28 to the Food and Drug Administration website.
The cream cheese, in a 6-ounce plastic cup, has a lid that labels it as Honey Almond, and a cup that labels it as Plain. The lid correctly identifies the cream cheese as honey almond. The lot code on the bottom of the cup has a Best If Used By date of July 21, 2026 LO.
The recall was initiated because people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almond run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction, according to the recall notice.
No illnesses have been reported.
Customers who bought the recalled cream cheese spread are urged to return it to the place where they bought it for a full refund. Customers who have questions can contact the company through their website at einsteinbros.com/contact.
