1:47Now PlayingA 58-year-old man was shot and killed by Denver Police earlier this month after police said he pointed a BB gun at an officer.
The department released this drone footage of the incident on Wednesday.
Police said that on April 7, someone called 911 to report there was man with a weapon in the backyard of a home in the 1000 block of South Quitman Street. According to police, officers saw the man holding what they believed was a hunting-style rifle. It was later determined that the weapon was a pump-style BB rifle.
After negotiating with the man for more than an hour, police said he pointed the gun at an officer who then shot him multiple times.
