1:44Now PlayingMore than 50 wild sloths died at an unopen Orlando tourist attraction called 'Sloth World' — animals that, according to FWC inspection reports, spent at least one night in a cold warehouse with no heat, no running water, and no one present to help them.
Florida's Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has now issued a 60-day executive order halting all foreign sloth imports. Surviving sloths were transferred to Central Florida Zoo on April 24. According to the zoo, three — Bandit, Habanero, and Dumpling — have since died from emaciation. Mr. Ginger, the smallest and youngest, remains in critical condition.
State Rep. Anna Eskamani is pushing for a full criminal probe into the Sloth World operators. The Orange County Sheriff's Office is also criminally investigating.
Sloth World's registered agent told Inside Climate News the FWC report is 'completely fiction.'
