0:38Now PlayingFort Wayne Police have released surveillance footage of a physical altercation at a local Tim Hortons that preceded the death of 75-year-old Anita Grayson.
According to police, Grayson entered the restaurant on May 13 to dispute a drive-through order. Police say she began berating a 17-year-old employee, prompting a 20-year-old shift lead to intervene. A physical altercation followed. Video appears to show both women on the floor at one point during the encounter.
After the fight, Grayson sat at a table, made a phone call, then collapsed. Despite emergency response, she did not survive.
No arrests have been made. The Allen County Coroner's Office says Grayson's cause and manner of death remain pending — preliminary findings noted no significant contributory injuries. The case has been forwarded to the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
Police say they released the footage because a 'dangerously false narrative' had been circulating online. Grayson's family disputes the department's framing of events.
