Nancy Dello Stritto, who lives in a Broward County retirement community, said she was collecting her mail when she found the plate along with her renewal paperwork. She hadn't requested a new one.
"I didn't know I was getting a plate," Dello Stritto said.
Her surprise turned to disbelief once she read it closely. The plate displays the characters SQZ A55 — from a distance, the double 5s can look like S's, turning an innocent jumble of letters and numbers into something far more suggestive.
"I looked at it and I said, 'I don't think so,'" Dello Stritto said.
Dello Stritto, who turns 77 next month, said the plate doesn't exactly fit her lifestyle in a senior community.
"I don't think a woman that lives in a senior community that's going to be 77 years old next month will be driving around with what this plate has to say," she said.
