1:48Now PlayingThe U.S. Food and Drug Administration said the positive testing of cyclospora in Taylor Farms de Mexico lettuce has been retested and should be "considered a false positive." "FDA laboratory experts re-reviewed the sample results and have concluded that the finding does not represent true amplification," the organization said Sunday in a news release.
Due to the updated testing results, there are no confirmed positive sample results for product testing for cyclospora.
Iceberg lettuce was voluntarily recalled by Taylor Farms in 27 states in response to the testing. Lettuce was also pulled from various fast food restaurants like Taco Bell.
In a social media post from Sunday titled "Today, FDA apologized to us," Taylor Farms looked to distance itself from association with the parasite, noting that a voluntary recall had been issued based on the initial information given by health officials.
"To be clear, at this moment, FDA has not identified a single positive product test result for Cyclospora," Taylor Farms posted on X.
