4:16Now PlayingGaylord Rockies Resort will bring its massive frozen experience back this holiday season. The Aurora resort announced it will debut "ice! featuring Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas" later this year. More than 2 million pounds of ice will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with scenes from the 1993 Christmas movie, by a team of 30 master artisans.
The never-before-seen frozen attraction will include a towering Jack Skellington, an eerie Halloween Town, Sally, Zero, Dr. Finkelstein, the Mayor, Lock, Shock and Barrel, and the Halloween Town Band, through the Holiday Forest and Christmas Town.
Christmas at Gaylord Rockies, including "ice! featuring Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas" and a full slate of holiday experiences, opens Friday, Nov. 20, and runs through Jan. 3.
The "ice!" exhibition, which first appeared at Gaylord Rockies in 2019, is to be constructed by a team of artisans from Harbin, China. It will take approximately 40 days to create the frozen attraction from 7,500 blocks of ice.
The attraction features two-story tall ice slides and will use colored ice, clear ice and LED lights used to create the display, as well as a separate Nativity scene.
