Every Colorado county under Air Quality Alert as wildfire danger increases

All of Colorado's 64 counties are under an Air Quality Alert through at least 4 p.m. Wednesday for wildfire smoke. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment said warming temperatures and abundant sunshine, along with the presence of wildfire smoke, will result in elevated levels of both ozone and fine particulates throughout Colorado.

A cold front brought the noticeable push of wildfire smoke from out-of-state wildfires in Utah and the Pacific Northwest. Expect areas of patchy smoke and reduced air quality Wednesday morning statewide in Colorado.

High temperatures in Denver on Wednsday will be slightly warmer, with critical fire weather conditions expected across the high country where a Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Expect wind gusts up to 35 mph and relative humidity between 13-17%.
