0:20Now PlayingNew Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Davis Webb made his playcalling debut in the team's Friday night preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons.
9NEWS Broncos Insider Mike Klis said Webb was tasked with calling the offensive plays for the first time in his life, one by one by one, in order, on every down, as he saw fit.
"He wasn’t about to call a bunch of running plays," Klis said. "Air Webb was immediate, it was frequent and it was effective. Stidham completed a 15-yard pass to Pat Bryant on the game’s first play and a 40-yard go route to Courtland Sutton a couple plays later, setting up an easy 1-yard touchdown plunge by fullback Adam Prentice."
The first series of the first preseason game ended: Broncos 7, Atlanta Falcons 0.
Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Webb enjoyed a “smooth” debut.
“Davis was on point,” Payton said. The Broncos won the game 27-7 over the Falcons.
