Yukon Jack at The Grizzly Rose: Is Garth Brooks returning to the legendary Denver venue?

Garth Brooks is preparing to perform four arena concerts at Ball Arena in Denver this Labor Day weekend, but rumors are swirling of a top-secret fifth concert. Some fans are speculating the country music icon is planning a secret concert at Denver music club The Grizzly Rose on Thursday.

Brooks told 9NEWS last month he'd love to perform at the small venue in north Denver where he first performed early in his career in the 1990s. The Grizzly Rose has a concert planned Thursday at 7:30 p.m. from Yukon Jack.

Fans of Brooks are buzzing as quick internet search finds no singer or band named Yukon Jack. Brooks' hometown is Yukon, Oklahoma. Brooks also used the Yukon Jack name at a small bar in 1993. The Grizzly Rose said tickets for Yukon Jack on Thursday will be only available at the door. No one will be permitted to line up on Grizzly Rose property prior to 4 p.m. Thursday.

Brooks spoke to 9NEWS last month about how his career has been marked by deep ties to Colorado, a state he says has embraced him like a hometown hero.

Brooks traced his history with Colorado back decades, from playing the Denver's Grizzly Rose and the Pueblo State Fair, to Denver's old McNichols Sports Arena and later Empower Field at Mile High.

"You can go to the Grizzly Rose. I mean, I got to tell you truthfully, I'd play that place tomorrow," Brooks told 9NEWS. "I love that place, great memories, the state fair in Pueblo, fabulous memories. Then we get to come and play the old McNichols Arena, I think was the next step up for us. And then, of course, getting to play Mile High. Come on, man. Growing up as a kid and watching that and seeing all the historic events that happened there, get to be a part of that.

Brooks will bring his "Blame It All on My Roots" tour to Ball Arena in Denver for four concerts this Labor Day weekend. Brooks will perform three back-to-back nights at Ball Arena on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Another matinee show is on Sunday. Tickets for all shows are now on sale at Ticketmaster.com. Every tickets is priced at $155.25.

Brooks' last Colorado stop in 2019 set a new attendance record at Empower Field at Mile High with 84,500 fans. Brooks described the night as "an out of body experience," comparing it to a prize fight.

"I've tried to explain it to everybody. It's weird, it was a prize fight," Brooks said. "That's what it was, man, and it was, we came out of the hole big, knocked them on their butts, and then they stood up and start punching back, and it was fun. They were just haymaker after haymaker all night long. I could go back there to stay. And do it again, man. Just felt very lucky."
