as posted by the channelThe EU spent years preparing for brexit customs checks, and so they were ready at the start of 2021. The UK government, however, despite being the ones driving brexit made no preparations at all. This is why we have few checks taking place on EU imports. They were supposed to start up properly this summer, but the government have now put them off for up to two years. This means that we are not bothering to control our borders at all for years to come.
