A non-story that posed no problems to either Johnson or the government. Yet Johnson used taxpayer funded staff to threaten the editor with legal action if they didn't withdrawa the story. They stood by the story and Downing Street had to climb down from the threat of legal action the next day. Now what was just a vaguely amusing story has now blown into a much bigger problem for the Prime Minister.
