This was won partly on brexit, and partly on promises to level up their communities. But there have only been broken promises so far, and data shows that the North East of England has suffered the lowest growth since the Conservatives came to power. With no attempt to even pretend they are helping these communities, it's like Tory MPs have given up on trying to win them back at the next election.
