This is a good move, but it's being argued at the wrong time. Re-structuring government departments like this takes time and stops a lot of work, which may not be ideal at a time of national crisis. It is also curious that Sunak has appointed a new Party Chair with no previous cabinet experience despite having been an MP for five different Tory Prime Ministers.
