As with everything where brexit impacts our standard of living, supporters will seek to pin all the blame on external factors and downplay, or dismiss altogether, the impacts of leaving the EU. Food inflation will be another key issue in 2024, and with news that the shipping lanes through the Suez Canal are struggling again, brexiteers will seek to distract us. But, 8% of our food passes through the Red Sea, but 28% comes from Europe, and those standards controls are going to raise the price of all of them.
