Rishi Sunak gave a statement today that he is working on the assumption that the election will be in the second half of this year, not in May. When asked, he refused to rule out a May election, however. The reason he made this weak and panicked statement is the Tories know that Labour are getting ready to paint Sunak as running scared if he doesn't call the election for May. Problem for the Tories is that this statement today was weak and will not let him dodge Labour's attacks this spring.
