as posted by the channelIn this episode of My Australia, Priyashni enjoys an Aboriginal tour near Canberra, Jay visits a wildlife rehabilitation centre and Ida goes camping with four university friends.
Aboriginal Tour
Priyashni and her friend meet an indigenous park ranger who works in Canberra's national park, Tidbinbilla. They learn how to make bush soap and see kangaroos for the first time in the wild. Both girls get to see a sacred site and learn about the 25,000 year history of the area.
Wildlife Rehab
Jay visits the Cape Otway Conservation Ecology Centre and learns that they rescue, and rehabilitate many animals each year so that they can be returned to the wild. Jay learns that there is more to life than partying and making videos about himself. He also learns that volunteering in the community is very important. Ida and four university friends go camping outside of Wollongong.
Camping
How many PhD students does it take put up a tent? 4! They laugh at their rusty tent skills, go for a bush walk, gather wood and build a campfire. Then they all help make damper, the Aussie campfire breads cooked in the coals, and finish the night toasting marshmallows and telling stories.
