3:52Now PlayingWaking up before the sun to walk around some sewerage ponds isn't everyone's idea of fun. But for keen bird photographer, Henry Cook, it's the ideal start to the day in Longreach, Western Queensland.
Henry began taking photos five years ago so he could share his travels around Australia with his mum. He has always been fascinated by birds (all wildlife really) and photography gives him a chance to share a window into their lives and behaviours.
An ecologist by trade, there aren't many days Henry doesn't take his camera out and snap a photo of a bird... or lizard, gecko or snake. Living with him - he's my partner in crime - I have to admit I've also started picking up the binoculars from time to time.
