as posted by the channelStanley Watson was in the first wave at Gallipoli and almost the very last person to leave nine months later when thousands of soldiers were successfully evacuated from Anzac Cove. Stanley Watson was a civil engineer who became an officer in the Signal Corps, organizing vital communications firstly at Gallipoli and then on the western front. In Anzac Cove he designed one of the piers which loaded and unloaded troops and equipment and facilitated the evacuation. His great-grandson, Joshua Funder has written the story of Stanley's Gallipoli experiences.
