as posted by the channelRead the full articleSince it was published in 1980, Australian children and their parents have pored over the Australian Women's Weekly Children's Birthday Cakes, often well in advance of their next birthday.
'There is something quite magical about it. I think the lack of perfection has something to do with that', says Ginger Gorman, the Canberra journalist and home baker.
In May 2016, Gorman and a group of fellow amateur bakers will attempt to cook all 104 cakes from the book.
Each cake will be sold at a silent auction to raise money for Canberra support ground Post and Ante Natal Depression Support and Information Inc (PANDSI).
