as posted by the channelA troubled youth turned professional fighter - Jacob Marks returns to the sport he had grown to resent, and finds his true calling, teaching others the art of fighting.
Sport brings us together, and in Australia, many of us are linked to sport. We play with friends, family or a local team or club. We wear the team colours and cheer our teams on. We volunteer on the weekend at the canteen, coaching kids or umpiring.
The ABC, Grandstand and the National Sports Museum want to hear your sport stories of connection and community. Tell us about the local legends, the fiercest rivalries, the community heroes.
The disastrous local netball premiership of '96. The volunteers who knit team beanies every season. The dance competition where you triumphed, the break you love to surf, or the time you skipped school to avoid playing sport.
Share your personal stories about the good and the bad — the stories of inclusion and perhaps even exclusion.
You can share your story with us in video, audio, text and/or image by:
Writing a post with a photo or video that tells your sport story
Posting your story on your social media — make sure the post is public
Adding #yoursportstory so we can find it on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or YouTube
