4:02Now PlayingJohn Burfitt is a rare person indeed.
He’s well known in Sunraysia as the man under the colorful wig. You may have passed him by at the local Mildura mall, or at the local hospital rattling his tin with a friendly smile.
A few people stop to drop coins in his tin, but many just walk on by.
This doesn't worry John, he keeps stomping the pavement rattling his tin for hours at a time raising money for those that need it most.
But who is this man behind the tin, what motivates him to keep going after 35 years of quietly helping people?
In this story we meet that man and follow his heart to help journey supporting families of children who are faced with life threatening illness.
We meet three year old Piper, just one of hundreds of children that John has helped. Piper and her family live with a rare form of untreatable epilepsy and John has raised much needed funds to help Piper travel overseas to receive new experimental stem cell treatment not currently available in Australia.
This is John’s story.
