On a remote stretch of Australian highway, the impacts of COVID-19 have hit businesses particularly hard. Roadhouses are doing it tough as visitor numbers have plummeted.

At Billabong Roadhouse, some 650 kilometres north of Perth, owner Jacques Tranquille says customers have reduced to a trickle. He hopes his business can keep its doors open until regional borders open and visitors can once again start to traverse this vast outback region.
