Vandalism to the colourful stained glass lead lights at an iconic Geraldton cathedral triggered the search for someone who had the expertise to restore them.
That someone is Vaughn Bisschops – one of just a handful of skilled craftsman in Australia in the highly intricate trade of repairing stained glass windows; a trade that has barely changed over hundreds of years.
"The thing I love about the craft is you can put a modern take on it, but it's a very, very ancient art so it is beautiful in that way," he says.
