The megafire claimed two lives, destroyed 44 homes and burned through more than 74,000 hectares of bush and farmland. For those who remained to rebuild, a remarkable turning point was reached using creative workshops to gently mend the scorch marks in the minds of those who bore witness to the destruction and debris of October, 2019. For the more stoic men of the community, it was a songwriting workshop with Australian music icon John Schumann that became the conduit for connection and healing.
