Since the ABC made its radio broadcast 90 years ago, the humble radio has had many incarnations and Gippsland based radio enthusiast John Scott has collected just about all of them.

As the son of a prolific Maffra 20th century electrical appliance retailer, he reflects on his father’s pioneer legacy, introducing ‘cow yard’ radios to the farmers in the 1930s to the introduction of transistor radios in the late 1950s.
