Now the Royal Flying Doctor Service is taking a more grounded approach to helping people access health care in a timely way. In
January, the service took ownership of a second community transport vehicle, to help people in the Wimmera reach medical appointments.
Elderly and disabled people - without access to a car in Warracknabeal, Minyip and Beulah - can now reliably get to their medical appointments.
It's part of a statewide rollout of community transport that will also see vans operating out of South Gippsland, and four more remote Victorian areas, by the end of 2023.
