After much of north-west Queensland flooded earlier in 2023, amazing scenes have emerged.

Access to the Simpson Desert from Birdsville - closed because of high water levels – reopened in July.

And as the waters slowly made their way down to Lake Eyre in South Australia, they've left behind a landscape where wildlife and wildflowers are thriving. Leonie Mellor reports.
