Underbool farmer and builder Hoby Brown was in the limelight this year, winning the award for best salami, over 95 other entrants, with his "blond" sausage, a blend of salt, pepper, garlic, white wine — and other ingredients he was not prepared to divulge.
Local grape grower Felix Liparota alongside his son Ricardo — who won the best southern style salami in 2018 — has modernised his family's award-winning recipe, which his grandparents taught him when he was a child.
