Waymo pauses service in San Francisco as power outage hits city

Waymo's self-driving cars were put on pause by the company on Saturday in San Francisco after the autonomous vehicles were baffled by the lack of traffic signals due to a widespread power outage in the city.

Power continues to be restored to tens of thousands of San Francisco businesses and residences following the outage that affected some 130,000 customers. At one point at least 30% of the city was in the dark.
