It neither is wholly conservative nor wholly progressive, but conserves what good has been achieved and strives to progress mankind towards ihsan [perfection in worship of the Creator in all actions]
Islam is neither left-wing nor right-wing on the spectrum of Western political ideological divergence, Islam is on an entirely different spectrum altogether, the spectrum of all human beliefs and conduct - and upon THAT spectrum it is the *middle way* and the balanced position
