We’re obviously joking. Coups are bad and plus it would be a logistical nightmare. But if the U.S. were ANY other country, we might be in back rooms discussing regime change. After all, America has historically believed itself to be an arbiter of democracy, deciding which governments are failed, and whether to help topple them.

Now with a COVID-positive reality star and his family running the government, an out-of-control pandemic, mass inequality and violence against people of color and immigrants, let’s just say if America were in the Global South, this former colony would have been coup’d by now.
